Guys… what are we even doing here? How was any part of this movie deemed, in any form of faction, releasable to the general public? No one wants these movies to suck, real film makers put in hard work and time into making films and most people are just doing their job… but COME ON….
Kraven the Hunter is bad. It has a good 5 minute start, and then goes on basically a 30 minute origin story through flashbacks, like no one paid to see these kids. The story is surface level at best, the characters (who are played by award winning actors in the prime of their careers) are terribly displayed. The script does no favors for Aaron Taylor-Johnson as his personality is stuck between brooding person who despises humanity and cool swav esque loaner. Featured here is also some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever witnessed in a high budget movie expected to be taken seriously.
The CGI is ok, but man what a total disservice to the Rhino. I don’t understand what they are doing here, the pacing is off, there’s a forced reference to Spider-Man (again! More movies of Spider-Man characters with ZERO reference of the reason why we even want to remotely want to watch these films)
As of writing this, it’s been announced that these movies are done, thank the Lord. Sony, you know how to make good movies. Spider-Verse, Jumanji, Bad Boys, Garfield… I just don’t understand.
I really can’t think of redeeming qualities here that are good enough to entice movie goers to see this movie. I really gave serious thought on this review, was I hating because the internet says we have to hate? The answer is no.
Sony lost our trust with these movies, so yes we will be naturally more critical, but the criticism is well deserved. With false marketing, unkept promised and just poor overall quality… good riddance to this universe.
